Lamp & Line — press kit
Everything needed to write about the app, without asking first. Every image here may be used in coverage of it.
In one sentence
Lamp & Line is a quiet Bible for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch: the complete Berean Standard Bible, typeset properly and stored on the device, with no account, no ads and nothing collected.
In one paragraph
Most Bible apps are feeds that happen to contain a Bible. Lamp & Line opens to Scripture. The complete Berean Standard Bible lives on the device, so it works offline. Poetry keeps the lines its translators set, and the text reads comfortably at every size iOS offers. Tap a verse to see the Hebrew or Greek behind every word, and everywhere else that word occurs. Each day brings one Psalm, one reading and one prayer, on the iPhone, the Home Screen and the wrist. The whole Bible reads on Apple Watch, offline, with the phone switched off. It has no account, no advertising, no streaks and no analytics. It generates no text of its own: every word of Scripture is the translators'. Reading is free. One optional purchase, never a subscription, adds the study and customisation tools.

What sets it apart
- A real Bible on Apple Watch. Today's Psalm, reading and prayer are free on the wrist. With Full, all 66 books read there offline, as a reader in their own right rather than a companion screen, alongside complications.
- Word study. The Hebrew or Greek behind every word: how it is said, how the translators rendered it, its grammar in plain words, a brief lexicon entry, and every other place it occurs. It is built from the translators' own published tables, so it is lexical data, not commentary.
- Typesetting. Poetry keeps its lines, prose flows as paragraphs, and there is a warm reading style for night, at every text size iOS offers.
- Built into the system. Widgets that ask the Smart Stack for your reading time, two Controls for Control Centre and the Action button, Siri and Shortcuts, and all 66 books findable from Spotlight.
- What it leaves out on purpose. No feed, no streaks to break, no AI-generated answers, no commentary, no subscription.
